The art in Samurai Siege is solid. The characters have cartoon charm, the buildings have distinct looks, and the environments and decorations are lovely. The buildings and units have fairly simple animations that can look a little choppy, but Clash suffers from the same issue. I want to particularly call out the campaign map which is a large gorgeous illustration of valleys, mountains, and a desert. It has subtle animations throughout that add immensely to its grandeur. Throw in some of the game's subtle but beautiful music and you've got a map screen that's worth spending some time on to just pan around and explore.

Combat is refreshing since it breaks the fixed camera view that a majority of RTS games have. Shogun 2 encourages camera movement with SWAD controls instead of the arrow keys and uses Q and E for turning. This setup calculates fantastically, not have I been wanting for the better angle to see my units. Indeed, other RTS games should increase the risk for SWAD keys default for screen movement mainly because it's better to reach your customized groups, they're immediately. Being able to zoom right in the battle is extremely good fun, though you'll spend most of the time zoomed out giving orders. The battles aren't any less impressive from the distance.
Thankfully you are able to save battle replays. The most memorable battle I've played would be a Siege map contrary to the A.I during the Multiplayer Campaign mode. The enemy had decimated my lands and pushed me back to my house province without much associated with an army to spare. The next turn he attacked my city castle with roughly two times as many units as I had, I remember my cousin saying "This is going to hurt" as they watched me get ready for the slaughter. I won with a lone number of samurai retainers. It's awesome as a way to save epic battles prefer that.
That said, dismissing Samurai Siege as only a clone of Clash of Clans would be slightly misleading. Once you've made some progress in the game, you can find some unique mechanics if you dig a little. These are the small differences that could make Samurai Siege more appealing than Clash to some players. Space Ape doesn't really advertise these though, so players are going to find out about the differences only by playing the game. If you just read the iTunes description for Samurai Siege, you'd come away thinking it was nothing but Clash of Clans with an Asian setting (okay, the last feature they mention is Alliance Wars which is something that Clash players have been requesting for some time).

Group formations and talents could be game changing. Cavalry are better in the Wedge Formation, spear units developing a Yari Wall tend to be far better against charging cavalry, Bow units using fire arrows deal greater damage (and may set boats on fire in sea battles!), the General can rally to inspire and increase unit morale. Units who lose morale will run from battle, and when shattered they're completely out of the control. Samurai units have extremely high morale and so are challenging to break. A.I path finding is smooth and I've yet to discover a glitch which includes hindered my efforts to manipulate any groups.
