- Dean Hall the creator of the awesome Dayz game which started life as a mod for the ARMA II game created by Bohemia Interactive Has today announced via Reddit that the game will be moving to a new games engine for future development.
If you look at something like DayZ or Minecraft – the cost of them is tiny compared to the amount of money they make. Then you look at something big – pretty much anything out there – they are very expensive propositions. When we had a lot of publishers come to us with the DayZ project and say, ‘we want to be involved', I had to say to them, ‘well, what will you provide?' They said money, marketing, retail placement and all of that. At the Eurogamer Expo today, Hall expressed the need to get DayZ out as soon as possible. “It has to be out before the end of the year. Not just because we've committed to it but in order to achieve what we have to do. It has to be. There's no 'we hope it is'; it has to be. And it's going to be cheap.”

If you are banned from online play because of this mod, I will personally buy you another copy of the game. I've only ever had one person try to claim and they had installed a completely different version of single player that was supplied as an exe file from an entirely different site. There are AI bandits within the game. You'll encounter then pretty much anywhere on the map and they will fire at you. When you enter the game you will straightaway get a message that says you are hungry. So it is obvious that one of your priorities is to find food as you start to loot. This process will be helped if you can get hold of a bladed item. This is because you will find cans of food such as cans of baked beans or spaghetti. You will need to be able to open these, so ideally you would need to look out for a can opener but if you can't find one of those then use a bladed item.
